Our Trusty Postman

We have an excellent postman. We'll call him "Rob" in this post. Every day Monday through Saturday he'd deliver our mail. Many days he'd forgo the street side mail box and bring our letters and junk to the door. Sometimes he even did that on rainy days. Not necessarily the best idea since we don't have anything covering over our front door and all our mail was drenched -- it's the thought that counts and we appreciate it.

Even when Baby O was born, we'd get little notes from him with congratulations and the such. So, when I say Rob was a good postman that is an understatement -- he's exceptional!

Over the past few weeks we've noticed that our mail has been in the mailbox -- interesting concept. Nothing wrong there, we just know that Rob would never do that. At first we expected that he's gone on a vacation or something. He was known to go on pretty extravagant vacations. A year ago, he spent a week in Vegas then another week in The Caribbean - back to back.

Now we're concerned though because many weeks have passed and no signs of Rob. We are still in a little denial, but are breaking on past and facing reality that he may have moved on to other things or places. We're trying to make friends with the new postwoman. We sent Baby O to give her a bottle of water today as a sign of our appreciation.

Ok so the blog went to a new level today about the postman. You are too funny but I must say we did receive a phone call about the disappearance of the friendly guy. He was a popular fella'.

We loved our postman at the old house , Bill. We even stood in the receiving line with him at our neighbors funeral. He stopped daily to pet the n'hood cat, waved heartily every day for years and then all of the sudden he was gone. I got word from the new guy that Bill retired. I felt betrayed because he didn't even say goodbye. Perhaps you should ask your new post-woman about your old post-man. It's amazing how these people feel like part of your life. I've met your postman and I'm missing him right along with you! MT
